Hello, everyone! Welcome back to the Papertrey Third Anniversary festivities!
Today I get to announce a brand new program that is replacing our previous Guest Star Stamper contest. Something that's even bigger and better and will reward EVERYONE that participates instead of just a select few. Something that will bring everyone together on a weekly basis... design team members, customers, beginners and seasoned stampers alike.
I introduce to you...
Make It Mondays are another special feature that Erin Lincoln & I have been working on (think of her as resident techno guru!). The Make It Monday challenge series. Every Monday there will be a technique video posted by a Papertrey Team Member or myself, showcasing a nice balance of basics and new innovations to cater to everyone's skill levels.
There will then be a special location on our new website that will have a database, similar to Mister Linky functionality, that will allow people to post a link to a project they create using that weeks technique. Erin will then proceed to "tweet" a project of special mention every night Tuesday through Friday, something we are calling "Inspiration Hour". We will also have a special "Inspiration Hour" forum where people can stop by to chat with one another during that designated time, perhaps even virtually stamp together. At the end of the week (on the following Monday) a grand prize winner will be selected from all the entries.
We will be introducing a "rewards" program that works with a points system. Participants that add their link to our database will automatically get a point just for participating, while someone who receives one of the coveted "Inspiration Hour" tweets would get additional points and the weekly winner would gain even more. These points will be equal to Papertrey cash to be used at their disposal on Papertrey merchandise.
That's right. You will be able to earn money for your monthly Papertrey purchases just for participating in our weekly challenges! Now how's that for motivation!
Make It Mondays will begin when our new website goes live this spring! We will definitely keep you posted with more information as it becomes available!
I thought it would be fun to kick off this announcement with my very own video. My very first to be honest. Definitely a bit rough around the edges. And I still have a lot to learn, so don't be too harsh! I thought it only appropriate to show you my favorite stamping technique, emboss resist. Enjoy!
I didn't focus in on the completed card at the end of that video (lesson learned!), so here is a closeup photo of it so you can see all the details.
I love this card because it could easily be used for either a male or female recipient. Not to mention, it's quick and easy to make too! Can't you imagine it in other colors too?!?!
The contrast between the shiny embossing and the overall rustic style of the project are really stunning, especially in person. I love layering monochromatic colors like I did here with the Spring Moss & Ripe Avocado inks. It really adds a lot of depth and "artistic flair" to an otherwise plain & simple card. No buttons, no bows, just paper! Just the way I like it sometimes!
As I mentioned int he video, this scalloped edge is created with a brand new, VERY exciting product exclusively by Papertrey Ink, that I will be introducing to you in full tomorrow! Look how perfect they are... *sigh*. Just love 'em! You won't believe what we have to tell you tomorrow! Definitely one of THE most exciting announcements of the entire week!
So, how about a contest? We want to see what YOU can do with the emboss resist technique!
1. Make a project using any form of the emboss resist technique.
2. Upload a photo of your project to you blog or online gallery. (You can only upload one project, please)
5. Add the link for your photo(s) to the Mister Linky box below.
6. Those that leave a comment talking about what type of techniques they would like to see covered in this series, will also be eligible to win. Those that create a project link in Mister Linky AND comment will have an extra entry. Only one comment per person please.
To give you a little jumpstart with this challenge, here's what a few of our design team members came up with to meet this challenge!
