The most recent Guest Star Stamper contest brought out the best of the best and it was SO incredibly difficult to select the winners! I've put together a list of some folks that I thought needed an extra special mention because of all the creativity they displayed.
Lisa G. developed a stunningly simple design for her monochromatic Take Note notepad cover and then replicated it in over a dozen different colors. I love the combination of the three different stamped backgrounds she put together, all stamped with Fresh Snow ink. All she had to do was prepare herself with a stack of various colored cardstocks. I can see replicating this idea whenever mass-production of the notepads is necessary! Just an amazing version of these notepads!
Wahinlei created a special holiday pad for herself using the trendy color scheme of Aqua Mist & Pure Poppy. I love the way she accented the theme with the tree from Holiday Button Bits. Partnering both buttons and sparkled circles is such a modern & hip interpretation of this image!
Simple Treasures went vintage with her version of a Holiday Planner. She used one of my favorite images from 2009 Holiday Tag Collection to adorn her cover along with some pretty vintage papers.
Kirsten DuBosque created a vibrant & colorful "This & That" cover. The unique way that this notepad opens is half the fun, you can see all the details on her blog HERE.
Janelle nearly took my breath away with this stunning quick & simple Christmas card.I love the embossing and glitter accents that are used on the scalloped circle that serves as a focal point (she provides some brief directions HERE). I also thought it was so clever to only use a very small portion of the large tree from Tree Trimming Trio. It really changes the entire look of the image and gives you more options. Just beautiful!
Tammy Butz made this enchanting little photo card, using her children as the mail subject. I thought the color scheme paired with the black & white photos was just stunning! Peaceful Poinsettia provided the perfect sentiment and backdrop for her adorable photos!
Julie Cameron put together a collection of super simple cards that are definitely not lacking in style & grace. I have always had a thing for the pairing of Spring Rain & Pure Poppy and these cards are certainly no exception. Signature Christmas provides the perfect finishing touch.
Cibele Glazer used Holiday Button Bits on a simple Kraft card base to create her quick & simple card. I love how she accented the cover with embossed lines that are accented with a metallic pen. Little details like that are what keep simple cards from being boring!
Rebecca Jensen's use of Life was so amazing, I just knew as soon as I saw it that it had to be the winner. I love the way she was able to create a multi-colored garden with just a little ink. Then the way the solid cardstock grounds the display so perfectly. And who can forget the twine wrapped repeatedly around the focal point. Just beautifully executed!
Kimberly Crawford used Vintage Labels to create a mini masterpiece. I love all of the different textures she put into play here. When combined together like this you are left feeling warm and cozy, which is always a good mindset to leave a recipient with!
Kelly Eubanks showcased In Bloom with her beautiful project. The wonderful layering paired with the autumnal color scheme was a unique perspective for this set and one I look forward to trying myself soon.
Joanne Basile created a stunning card using the popular On My Couch. The colors were taken from the patterned paper she selected. I also loved the way she paper pieced the couch itself and then followed up with some shading using a coloring medium. Such a great project that I would certainly love to receive!
Vanessa Menhorn put together an amazing version of the Fold n' Go template. I love how she accented the handle with scalloped circles. Such a small detail that makes a big impact. The color scheme is especially lovely along with the stacked jumbo button accent which definitely catches your attention. The little hint of an embossed pattern that reveals itself towards the top of the front of the box is a wonderful surprise that keeps the eye guessing!
Mom2Men used the Around Town Tote as the perfect addition to a recipe themed gift she was giving. Her patterned papers were created with the popular Fruitful set. I love how she accented the bag with raffia and measuring spoons! SO festive and fun!
Laurel Seabrook created and amazing gift ensemble using our From the Desk of template. The feminine and elegant pink & black color combo are certainly show stopping. Her use of Damask Designs to echo the pattern found on her purchased photo frame shows wonderful ingenuity.
Melissa Ladd created this lovely holiday ensemble with Pack a Picnic for someone special on her list. I was amazed at how she had the foresight to create a tag using Vintage Picnic and coordinate the basket featured in the image with the same patterned paper as the three-dimensional version.
So many people enter our contest each month, sharing the love they have for this hobby along with an endless array of skill levels. It is such a blessing to see all of you using these stamps to create projects that not only bring you joy because of the process, but also bring happiness to the recipient.
