If you have been following along with us this week, you have probably already seen some of the amazing things that Lisa Johnson has created with her newest release, Love Songs. Not only does this set feature adorable images, it also has a lot of sentimental value to it which many people will identify with. To quote Lisa, "Love Songs is a fun valentines set of 38 stamps in which the images and sentiments are based on some of the most popular and memorable songs about love." Now, what's not to love about that!
For my project today, I thought I would show you a little something I plan on doing as a Valentine's Day surprise for my children this year! It is a tradition that wake up in the morning on the big day with a special Valentine treat waiting beside their beds. Last year it was a little mailbox with a few love notes in it and some candy. This year I thought it would be fun to make Strawberry Marshmallow Cones! Do you recognize the box that I packaged it in? It is Papertrey's exclusive My Timeless Templates For Keep{sake} Box. I just made the window a bit taller and created the lid from acetate rather than cardstock. I stamped a polka-dot lining for the box with vintage cream ink onto berry sorbet cardstock. A small raised tray inside with a hole cut the diameter of the cone helps hold it in place perfectly. I loved the way it worked out to use this template because it was quick and easy packaging, making the cone look like it is from a fancy bakery!

To create this special delicacy, you simply make the standard Rice Crispy Treat recipe, only using strawberry marshmallows instead of the regular white ones. Also, rather then pressing the mixture into a pan to form bars, you fill the cone and mold a small "scoop" on top. A few sprinkles are the finishing touch! I know my kids will LOVE eating these! Wouldn't these be adorable to have as little favors for a birthday party or something too?!?!?

The ice cream cone image from Lisa's new set is the perfect image to go along with this yummy little gift. I used it along with the "all you need is love" sentiment circle. Not only did it create the perfect frame for the cone image, but it also conveys my feelings for my family as well..all you need is love to keep a family happy & content!

I think the cone & scoops look fabulous when cut out and put on foam dimensionals. Their simple lines make it really easy to trim them out. I accented the cone image with a few dabs of stickles ans a rhinestone. A little sparkle always adds a little something special to a project! Kind of like a string of pearls added to finish off your favorite outfit!

The card is a mini 3x3 size. I love this size when I am making things for my kids or their classmates. Its quick and easy but also is just the right size for little hands.

The tag on the box lid coordinates with focal point on the front of the card. It's simply tied in place with a bit of hemp.
