Lisa Johnson is the proud designer of this new fresh and funky floral set. If you have been following a long on her blog this week, you have already seen some of the amazing things she has done with the images that it contains. It is chock full of possibilities, which is so characteristic of Lisa. One thing I have really enjoyed while playing with her set is the variety of styles you can emulate just by how you choose to use the set. It has been very gratifying to work with, and I think you will enjoy it too.

I needed to create a quick & easy thank you gift for someone and I ended up deciding to embellish a t-shirt. I was inspired by Lauren Meader's recent stamped shirts and decided to give it a go myself. I bought a good quality white v-neck shirt and masked of an elongated rectangle on the front. I did a lot of measuring to make sure that everything was centered and straight. I also inserted a piece of cardboard in the shirt to prevent any ink from leaking through to the back of the shirt.

To start, I stamped one of the solid flowers from the set with Lavender Moon palette randomly within the masked space. Palette ink is a fantastic choice for this type of project because it is permanent on fabric and will not wash out.

Next up was a funky daisy outline and a dotted center for the solid flowers, all done with Plum Pudding Palette ink. I really, REALLY like this combination of blooms.

To finish, I added a few leaves in Spring Moss Palette Ink. As a last detail, I sponged Plum Pudding ink around the inside edge of the mask.

And viola! Here's what you have once the tape is removed! The sponging that I did as a last step really helps to enforce the idea of boundaries for the design.

I added one of my favorite new sentiments (from Out on a Limb Sentiments) in black palette ink in the corner of the stamped block. "Live the life you have imagined."

Here's an overview of the finished shirt. I really enjoyed this project and love how I can take my favorite images to the next level and make them wearable! And how appropriate to be able to customize a gift with the recipients favorite colors?

I wanted to make a coordinating thank you card, so I created some patterned paper using the same process as the shirt, just omitting the sponging. The "Thanks Sow Much" sentiment if from Lisa's mini companion set entitled Flower Garden Sentiments. Such an adorable play on words!

Here are both pieces together. I know the recipient will LOVE them since purple is her favorite color! Who do you know that would love a shirt all their own?
