Many of you may remember the Papertrey Apprentice contest that we held a few months ago. Kelsey Forester was the winner and she was able to contribute ideas to me and have a stamp set designed just for her. The type of set that she had always dreamed of! I introduce Kelsey!
What was it like working on a stamp set? How were you involved in the process?
It was fun getting to work on this stamp set. Although at the beginning, I was nervous about it. I wondered if what I chose would be something that others would like too. I found myself jotting down lots of different ideas, but when it came time to type out my list to give to Nichole, the scriptures were on the top of my list and I knew it was the one. Nichole took my ideas and made it into an incredible set that I know I will treasure and I hope all of you will too!
...
I gave Nichole a list of the scriptures that I wanted and also that I wanted a cross to be included. She created the images that compliment the verses so well. I did come up with the title of "Everyday Blessings". I like to remember all of the blessings that I am given each day.
...
Why did you chose the scriptures & quotes that you did? Do any of them have special meaning to you?
My faith is very important to me. It is something that I was brought up with and I continue to learn about each day. I am grateful to my parents for this. These are some of my favorite verses that inspire and give me faith. I hope they are some of yours too.
...
1 Peter 5:7 is my favorite. Anytime I see this verse on something, I have to buy it. This verse is so important to me. It reassures me in good and bad times that I always have God with me.
...
What was it like the first time you saw the finished product? What about the first time you stamped with them?
It was amazing when I got to see the finished set. It felt good to see something come to life so to speak. I can only hope that people will go back to the set time after time and find new ways to use it.
...
I created a very simple card with the set as soon as I opened it. I wanted this set to be one that a beginner could open and create beautiful cards with. This set allows that and it is exactly how I envisioned it would be. Enjoy!

Kelsey's choice of scriptures & quotes for Everyday Blessings are AMAZING and SO inspirational! I can hardly wait for the reveal to share them all with you. I decided to make a quick card with this set in addition to showcasing Kelsey's project above.
This filigree cross is one of my favorite images from the set. I love the details of it. I remember as Kelsey was sharing her ideas for a cross during our brainstorming session, this type of filigree is exactly what came to mind. I stamped it in Burnt Umber Palette ink.
I went back in to add a slightly antique look to the cross by watercoloring it with Distress Ink. I made sure that I applied a little more color along the central lines of the image to create depth & dimension.
Next, I added some matting and brads. A little Gelly Roll Dust was added to the lines of the image. I wanted to make the dark brown outlines appear slightly metallic. I think it turned our perfectly!
This is the sentiment I decided on. There are so many FANTASTIC ones in this set, it is hard to choose! The font combination that Kelsey and I agreed on reflects the perfect balance of elegance & simplicity. They are detailed enough that they could easily be a focalpoint on a card, but simple enough to not steal the show when combined with one of the crosses.
I then assembled my card! A basic project that really allows the stamps to remain the star of the show!
