So here it is! TODAY is the big day! Can you believe it! As a reminder, the updated Papertrey website goes live @ midnight EST. The Papertrey Release Party begins at 11:00pm EST in the General Stamping Forum at Splitcoast Stampers! I can't wait to see you there!
I thought I would start off today's post with a really simple card (sometimes it's nice to just do simple, right?!?!). I was able to integrate the stitched border from the Borders & Corners Circle set along with what I have fondly named "scribble flower" images from our new floral set. There are two scribble flowers, one small + one large, and I just simply layered them on top of one another inside the stamped frames. Think of all the pretty color combinations you could do this in! I added the sentiment at the top of my border. As a finishing touch I added an itty bitty velvet flower with a brad to dot the "i". (The velvet flower comes from one of the collections we will be carrying as of tonight).
Since this is the last day of the countdown, I wanted to be sure to show you one more of my favorite tins that we will be carrying as of tonight. It will be referred to as a Tea Tin. It's tall & thin, making it ideal for packaging unique slender items. For mine, I decided to use Hershey's Sticks. They come in several different flavors, so there is something to suit just about everyone's tastes! What other items can you think of that could fit in a can that is about 6-inches tall?
To cover the tin I wanted to create some fun patterned paper. I decided I wanted my color scheme to reflect non-traditional Halloween colors. I ended up choosing a light blue-green and chocolate brown combination. For the paper I just stamped a solid line border (from Borders & Corners Circle) repeatedly all over my cardstock. After the circles were completed, I added the spiders and a few "Happy Fright Night" sentiments from our new Halloween set.
The pretty label on the front was SUPER easy, and actually something I had envisioned when designing the set. "Spooky Treats" fits perfectly with the largest frames in Borders & Corners oval, and therefore I easily added scallops by using the coordinating giga scalloped oval punch. A little ribbon and a few brads finished off this un-traditional Halloween project.
I look forward to seeing you all tonight!
