1- labels with a twist

Are you ready for tonight's party?  I know I am!  You can join us at 10pm (est) on our Splitcoaststampers forum.  There will be lots of fun chit chat with women from around the world, unified in the love for all things Papertrey!  We will also offer up our final Papertrey Puzzler question and you will have your chance to win all of our new releases for January!  I am looking forward to the excitement & fun! There is nothing like being able to "go out"on a Friday night with your Papertrey girlfriends, and still be able sit around in your comfiest pj's while in the comfort of your own home!  I hope you'll have a chance to stop by!

Img_4160_2I thought I would offer up another project to help pass the time today!  This one uses some additional images from our new label set!  If you remember the previous project I shared with you, some of the labels in this set have a unique center band that can be stamped in an additional color. I wanted to show you that you do not have to use the center band image in conjunction with the solid counterpart.  You can use it by itself for a very simple approach.  Here I have used the polka dot band alone and filled the center circle with an apple (LOVE that little apple!  It's got such a fun, unique round shape!).

Img_4159And did you notice that the labels are NOT wrapped around nuggets?  They are Riesens!  Chocolate covered caramel squares, and they are SO good!  This particular candy isn't as square in shape as the nuggets and they have a little roundness to them.  But the labels still look fantastic and add such a personal touch.

Img_4167_editedNow that I made these little candies, they needed to be contained in something, right?!?!  Well, I decided to use one of our small frosted bags.  The "thank-you" and "teacher" images are separate.  And there are actually other titles that you can replace "teacher" with, depending on your needs, such as "coach" & "neighbor"!  I am sure you recognize the polka dot band stamp from the labels.  I just cut the strip out and stamped the image a second time, punching out the apple image with a 3/4-inch circle punch.  This allowed me to layer it on top of the strip with dimensionals.

This was a really easy project, and sure to be a big hit with anyone you choose to bless with your handmade creation!

4

Here we are with only four days remaining!  The excitement is just SO incredibly contagious at this point!  I can hardly wait for the big day to arrive!

So, onto another project!  You've asked for it, and now we have delivered!  A set devoted exclusively to nugget labels with dozens of ways to customize them for ANY occasion!  Today I thought I would share this fun 3-step label that I designed!

121107_solid_label_portionStep 1: Stamp the solid main body of the label.

121107_striped_centerStep 2:  Stamp the center portion which includes an inner circular frame and striped "ribbon".

121107_flower_addedStep 3:  Add a  focal image, here I chose the flower.

121107_flower_nuggetAll that is left to do is wrap it around a nugget!  I just adore the added detail & color pop that the center ribbon image adds!  And it is SO much fun to do too!

121107_floral_nuggetHere is another label that is one of my favorites from this new set.  IT has scalloped edges.  Isn't that the cutest thing ever!

121107_wrap_suppliesSo now, an adorable, quick & easy, inexpensive way to package these customized candies.  You need ribbon, Mega scalloped circle punch or Nestabilities and cardstock.  I cut my lighter cardstock to form the bottom of my wrap (2 x 2-3/8 inches).  I then punched two scalloped circles from my darker cardstock.  The circles are scored and folded in half.

121107_adhering_flapsFor assembly, apply adhesive to one half of each of the scalloped circles.  Adhere them to the bottom of the rectangular base, lining the edges up with the creases of the folds.

121107_nuggets_laid_in_wrapPunch holes at the top of both circles and add your stamped nuggets to the wrap.

121107_floral_nugget_scalloped_wr_2Thread your holes with ribbon and tie securely.  The pressure created by this tying will ensure that the nuggets do not fall out.

A little tag stamped with one of the 20 sentiments in this set, makes the perfect finishing touch.

Papertrey Puzzler Question...

DAY 4: How many "handmade by"/"created by" stamps can be found in the entire Papertrey collection? (This tally should include any and all stamps designed to be used on the back of projects in conjunction with your signature.)

P.S. You don't want to post your answers to these questions throughout the week.  You'll want to keep them to yourself until the end of the contest!
