So here it is!  TODAY is the big day!  Can you believe it!  As a reminder, the updated Papertrey website goes live @ midnight EST.  The Papertrey Release Party begins at 11:00pm EST in the General Stamping Forum at Splitcoast Stampers!  I can't wait to see you there!

081407_birthday_girl_cardI thought I would start off today's post with a really simple card (sometimes it's nice to just do simple, right?!?!).  I was able to integrate the stitched border from the Borders & Corners Circle set along with what I have fondly named "scribble flower" images from our new floral set.  There are two scribble flowers, one small + one large, and I just simply layered them on top of one another inside the stamped frames.  Think of all the pretty color combinations you could do this in!  I added the sentiment at the top of my border.  As a finishing touch I added an itty bitty velvet flower with a brad to dot the "i".  (The velvet flower comes from one of the collections we will be carrying as of tonight).

081407_chocolate_sticksSince this is the last day of the countdown, I wanted to be sure to show you one more of my favorite tins that we will be carrying as of tonight.  It will be referred to as a Tea Tin.  It's tall & thin, making it ideal for packaging unique slender items.  For mine, I decided to use Hershey's Sticks.  They come in several different flavors, so there is something to suit just about everyone's tastes!  What other items can you think of that could fit in a can that is about 6-inches tall?

081407_spider_paperTo cover the tin I wanted to create some fun patterned paper.  I decided I wanted my color scheme to reflect non-traditional Halloween colors.  I ended up choosing a light blue-green and chocolate brown combination.  For the paper I just stamped a solid line border (from Borders & Corners Circle) repeatedly all over my cardstock.  After the circles were completed, I added the spiders and a few "Happy Fright Night" sentiments from our new Halloween set.

081407_spooky_spider_tin_2The pretty label on the front was SUPER easy, and actually something I had envisioned when designing the set.  "Spooky Treats" fits perfectly with the largest frames in Borders & Corners oval, and therefore I easily added scallops by using the coordinating giga scalloped oval punch. A little ribbon and a few brads finished off this un-traditional Halloween project.

I look forward to seeing you all tonight!

Tomorrow night is what you have all been anxiously awaiting for!  At midnight EST the updated Papertrey website & brand NEW products will go live!  So now for the BIG announcement!  I want to invite EACH and EVERY one of you to the official Papertrey Release Party!  At 11:00pm (EST) I will host a special thread on Splitcoast Stampers in their General Stamping Forum.  We can all share in the excitment during the hour leading up to the reveal!  I can answer any questions you may have and we can just have FUN!  So if you are waiting up on Tuesday night like the rest of us, please be sure to stop by!

081307_gratitude_bagAs I was looking back through my projects for this particular countdown, I noticed I had been using a lot of orange!  So I decided to break away from that color and go in the complete opposite direction with purple!  The patterned paper on this bag uses several images from Papertrey's new floral set.  I LOVE how purple hydrangea VersaMagic ink turns out when used on kraft paper.  It is so vibrant.  I also used the New Canvas Palette ink.  It is a soft white and really helped to tie in my accent color in a muted way.

081307_primasIf you haven't met them before, I would like to introduce you to the "Got Flowers?" Deux Series from Prima.  Most of the flower images in our new floral set were designed to coordinate with these itty-bitty cuties!  They fit perfectly in the stamped flowers center, adding both dimension & detail.  They are availabel in 18 colors, and we got 'em ALL!  Couldn't you just die over those polka dots!  There are around 200 flowers in each jar, retailing for $5 (this breaks down to a mere 2-1/2 cents per flower!  Who says a nickel can't get you anything these days! *wink*)

081307_frosted_bag_closeupThis project also uses one of our NEW small frosted tin tie coffee bags.  I love the translucent look of them and they always match EVERYTHING since they reflect whatever color they are paired with!  Speaking of COFFEE BAGS, a lot of you have been asking the cost/size availability.  Here are ALL the details.  (Be sure to note that we even have some with lined windows!) Now moving on to our new Halloween set!  Remember how I told you that this set is geared towards packaging treats?  What classic technique did you do at one of your first Stampin' Up! workshops and led you to fall in love with the versatility with stamping?  The answer of course is the ol' Avery address label wrapped around a Hershey's Nugget!  Well take a look at this...

081307_avery_label_stampI designed this stamp to specifically coordinate with the Avery address labels!  It is just slightly smaller so there is a nice, clean white border left around the edge!  Isn't that just the coolest!  I used Cognac & Raw Sienna Palette inks with these.  I was really happy with how vibrant & crisp the color remained.

081307_open_tin_full_of_chocolatesHere are the finished nuggets, wrapped with their little labels, sitting in one of our new tins (this one is called our Hinged Clear Top Tin, retailing for only $2 ea.).  This particular tin holds a perfect DOZEN of these little nuggets!

081307_trick_or_treat_chocolate_tinAfter I had filled the tin, I created a simple band for my box by layering some ribbon and cardstock on top of one another.  The finishing touch was a label using some other images from the set along with the dotted oval from Borders & Corners.  The extra jumbo scalloped oval punch was used to punch it out.

I have a few more fun things to share tomorrow, so y'all come back, you hear!

Only a few more days to go until the big reveal of Papertrey's latest stamp sets!  Tuesday night is THE big night, and we are SO excited for you to see everything that we have in store for you!

I have received many emails over the last few months as to what is the best way to execute custom stamped patterned paper (a.k.a. OSW or One Sheet Wonder).  Today I thought I would show you a little of my process.

081207_color_inspirationFirst, I found some inspiration for my color & pattern in my brand new issue of Real Simple magazine.  The throw pillows on this couch just really spoke to me.

081207_dp_leavesSo I pulled out a piece of white confetti cardstock (SU!) to use as my base.  I like to start building my patterns with the LARGEST image I intend on using in the grouping.  So I stamped the leaf from our new floral set in Creamy Caramel, covering the whole sheet.

081207_large_floral_outlineI then added this large floral flourish using Cranberry Crisp.  Notice how I stamped each flourish at a slightly different angle, making it look a little more random

081207_small_flower_outline_solidGoing down to an even smaller image, I selected the small floral flourish (an exact miniature of the large version).  I stamped it (with Cranberry Crisp again) randomly in between all of the large flourishes.  Each of the floral flourishes also have a solid shadow stamp counterpart in this set.  I felt that the pattern I was creating needed some added solid color, so I overstamped each small florish with it's shadow using Really Rust.

081207_solid_flowerAfter applying the shadow image to the small flourishes, I decided that I wanted to duplicate the effect with the larger flourishes as well.

081207_center_leafIt still looked a little plain so I added what was intended to be a solid leaf stamp, in Cranberry Crisp, to the center of each large flourish.

081207_dotted_leafAs a finishing touch I went back through and added the dotted leaf outline in Cranberry Crisp, randomly on some of the Creamy Caramel leaves.  This step helped to fill in any blank spaces.  Viola, completed paper!

081207_autumnal_birthday_cardI was anxious to cut it up when I had completed it and I ended up creating this card!  Very autumnal, isn't it?!?

081207_flower_closeupNotice the elegant flower accent.  It is created with some Beautiful-died-and-gone-to-heaven-the-price-is-right-VELVET FLOWERS!  (Yes, Papertrey will be carrying them!) There are a variety of colors available and they come packaged in a cute little tin.  There are a whopping 96 flowers for $8 (that figures to be about 8-cents a piece!).  And did I mention that they are DOUBLE-SIDED velvet!!!  I love the subtle texture that they add to a project.  There are so many layering capabilities with these as well since there a few different sizes included in one tin.

081207_cutting_out_petalI created the coordinating paper accent for my accent flower by using a portion of the small floral flourish stamp.  You can see here how I carefully cut away just the center portion of the image for each "petal".  I was then able to easily assemble them into a layer for my velvet flower.

081207_treat_tin_sideIf you were to ask ANYBODY, they would tell you that my favorite candy hands-down is anything with Reese's on it (although, for the record I did NOT care for the white chocolate peanut butter cups! *wink*)  So I thought I would incorporate Reese's Pieces into my Halloween project (color scheme and all)!  I used one of our new square clear top tins (have I mentioned that we will be featuring NINE different types of tins!?!?!  How fun is that!  I just LOVE tins!!!) and filled them with my favorite peanut butter + chocolate delicacy!  I decided to create some fun patterned paper to wrap around the base of the tin.  I used two images from the new Halloween set to do the job (don't you just love that basic little spider!).  I adhered that to my tin once it was completed.

081207_overview_of_treat_tinI then tied the tin with two types of ribbon, layered on top of one another.  This helped me to incorporate the brown & orange found in the candy.

081207_tag_closeupLast but not least was the tag!

081207_extra_jumbo_punch_coordinatiThe Halloween set includes two images that coordinate perfectly with the extra jumbo (yellow) scalloped oval punch from Marvy.  This makes it very easy to create a fun tag for your special projects!

I have some more fun things to show you tomorrow and a big announcemnt!  Be sure to stop by; you won't want to miss out!

081107_beautiful_girl_cardOur floral set contains several images, all made to work well together so you are able to customize your artwork to suit both your needs and style.  This card uses some patternd paper that I created using the various bits and pieces.  Notice the fun polka-dot center for the flowers!

081107_transparent_flowerWe will also be carrying these fun transparent flowers from Maya Road.  They are made out of a material similar to the plastic used in creating stencils.

081107_sponged_flowerI discovered that if you rub Palette ink onto them in a circular motion, you can "dye" them the color of your choice.  You know I am all about versatility!

081107_stamped_flowerAmoung other things, you can also stamp on them or back them with patterned paper.  Can you say limitless possibilities?!?!

081107_cb_plate_used_as_blockOur Halloween set is packed full of fun images too, 30 to be exact!  The four I used on the main part of this project will probably be your favorite, though!  Check it out!  A larger than life jack-o-lantern face!  And guess what!?!?  They are ALL seperate, allowing you to arrange them tightly for a smaller application, or far apart for a larger project.  You can stamp them individually if you like.  OR you can take Emily Giovanni's advice, and stamp them all at once by using a Cuttlebug plate as your block.

081107_pumpkin_paint_canSo this is the little trick-or-treat paint can I made.  I loved how I was able to just insert the cardstock inside the clear can and not worry about adhering it.  Oh, and by the way, we'll be carrying the clear paint cans too, in three sizes to boot!

081107_spooky_sweets_tag Here is a close-up of the tag (which uses the oval Nestabilities dies).  "Spooky" is a seperate image from "sweets" so you can bring together two different colors from your project easily.  There is also a "treats" stamp that coordiantes as well.  Both "sweets" & "treats" fit perfectly between the tails of the p & y in Spooky!  Ahhh, perfection!

Be sure to stop by tomorrow!  This party is just getting started!  I have some more fun projects to share!

I am SO excited to share Papertrey's new releases with you!  The party is beginning right here and you won't want to miss a single day!  We actually have two sets being released on the 15th along with TONS of fun, coordinating products.  I will be doing one project with each stamp set EVERY DAY, right here, in honor of their respective countdowns.

081007_die_stamp_coordinationSo first is an essential floral set.  One of the highlights of this set is the coordination that three of the stamps share with scalloped floral die-cuts from Provo Craft.  I love how easy it is to layer things on top of each other. ETA: These dies are made for the Cuttlebug die cutting system by Provo Craft.  Papertrey will not be carrying them, but they are available at Eclectic Paperie AND they're on sale!)

081007_floral_gratitude_card_2Here is my finished project, with all of the images being from our brand spankin' new floral set.  Don't you just love those leaves?!?

081007_coffee_bagsThe second NEW release stamp set is specifically geared towards making Halloweeen treat containers.  Speaking of containers, you're gonna LOVE our new coffee bags.  Yes, I am talking about the bags that you put coffee in when you go to the grocery store.  They have a tin tab top so you can just fold the top over on itself amd fold the tabs in!  Nothing, no matter the weight, can come out of these.  They are also wax lined so that if you were to put something greasy inside, it cannot satrate through to the outside of the bag!

081007_pumpkin_bag Here is my little project using the new Halloween set.  The pumpkin image is in two seperate pieces (stem & pumpkin), allowing you to easily create your own color combinations .  The sentiment reads "From you Favorite Little Pumpkin".  Isn't that the cutest?!?!?  I designed that sentiment stamp specifically for my little Ethan!

So let me know what you think of these new coffee bags.  I am anxious to hear your opinions!   Be sure to stop back in tomorrow for more sneak peeks of BOTH these sets!!!
