We have had an AMAZING response to our new dies & impression plates since we first introduced them in February. Myself and the rest of the Design Team have only begun sharing with you the dozens upon dozens of ideas and techniques we have in mind for these amazingly versatile products! Today I thought I would challenge the team to introduce you to even MORE fun ways to use them!
To start off, I had a few things I had been experimenting with myself in regards to the new Beautiful Blooms dies used in conjunction with our 100% wool felt!
I like to call these Double Cuts. And the name really says it all. You die cut the largest flower from the trio and then follow up with a second cut in the center using the smallest die from the set. The end result gives you fast, economical, easy to mail embellishments that you create over and over again.
To make a Double Cut, you want to die cut the largest flower from one of our Beautiful Bloom die Trios. I've done all of my samples today with Hawaiian Shores felt, but you could definitely do the same thing with paper or cardstock. After you remove the felt from the large die, place it back on your cutting plate. Then place the smallest flower from the trio in the center of the large flower die side down.
Run it through your machine using the same sandwich you always do for die-cutting and viola, your very own Double Cut!
This one I kept very simple. Clean & white. The background was impressed with our Picnic Plaid Impression Plate. the sentiment is from Blooming Button Bits, stamped in True Black ink. I also added an embossed line at the bottom & top of the sentiment strip to help accent it.
Notice that I layered a piece of Green Boutique patterned paper behind the opening in the Double Cut to accent the fun opening. I also added a New Leaf Vintage Button to the center using a mini glue dot. I just love the way this turned out!
For this next project I used the same process, except this time it was with the scalloped flowers from the series. I added a large layer of the Green Boutique paper as my mat. The sentiment strip was done in the same way as the first card.
I stacked two New Leaf buttons on top of one another using mini glue dots to accent the center of this card. Notice this time I layered white cardstock under the felt to help differentiate it from the busy background paper.
For this last project, I did a little something different.
I cut a block of Hawaiian Shores felt using my pinking shears. I then die cut the flower from it's center. Using a second piece of small felt, I die-cut the smallest flower.
I then placed the smallest flower within the boundaries of the large flower cut-out, adding a small New Leaf button to finish it off. (I think this may be my favorite of the bunch!)
Now that I have showcased a few of the things I have been working on, why don't you peruse the AMAZING ideas the team has put together for your reading pleasure today? I promise you won't be disappointed!
I've had a lot of questions about how to use our dies with the Cuttlebug & Big Shot this morning. This is the YouTube video I created last month showcasing just how to do that.
You can also see a video on how to use our Impression Plates with the various machines HERE.
I hope you enjoyed all of today's amazing inspiration! Have you purchased our new dies or Impression Plates yet? What do you think of them? Have you made anything amazing that you would like to share? Please feel free to post a link in the comments section!
As always, thank you for stopping by today! Now go stamp something! :)

Hello everyone, and happy Saturday! I have been super busy getting caught up on my "before the 25th" duties. This includes getting all of the box bands ready for printing & prepping the index labels. Finishing up all of the stamp designs for the May release! Finalizing die designs for May too! I just put the finishing touches on everything, so I am finally ready to head out this morning...
on a little road trip. This week is spring break for my kids, so we are going up to the Smoky Mountains to stay in a little cabin that we've rented. We generally go over there every year during this school vacation week and it always proves to be tons of fun, not mention relaxing & rejuvenating. I will return on Wednesday and I am hoping to bring you a video or two since I have completed my regularly scheduled "work" for next week.
I hope you all are perhaps beginning to see some warm spring-like weather like we are here in Tennessee. Enjoy your weekend and I will plan on seeing you back here on Wednesday!
P.S. I've been seeing some beautiful work from our customers around the web. I thought I would give a quick shout out to some of my favorites! Hopefully one of these talented artists/bloggers inspire you to create something beautiful today!
I want to thank each and every one of you for the enthusiasm you have shown for this month's release. We have been literally overwhelmed with orders from both existing customers & new customers alike. We try our best to be prepared for these releases in regards to inventory and anticipate what might be the most popular items. In fact, for this month's dies specifically, we ordered triple what we had last month.
Your response has been SO huge, that we unfortunately sold out of several dies this morning. We contacted our manufacturer and have them working double time to replenish our inventory with the sold out items. We will be getting some stock (such as the new RickRack die) as soon as Friday. The remainder should be arriving next week.
The Hawaiian Shores buttons will hopefully be restocked in approximately 2-weeks. All of our reinkers and inks should be restocked by the end of this week/beginning of next week.
We will be sending an inventory newsletter out via email as items begin to arrive.
I know that the few extra days to wait for these products can be frustrating. I know I would feel the same way myself if I were in your shoes! But I promise that we are doing all we can behind the scenes to make sure that you are taken care of in the most expedited manner possible.
Thank you once again for your patronage, your support and patience.
I've mentioned it before, but it's worth repeating... my favorite thing to do after all of the excitement from the release winds down is take a look at all the amazing goodies that the team designed using the brand new products. This month they definitely didn't disappoint and I've been so inspired to get back out all of these new sets and play some more!
Betsy Veldman created lots of soft layers pairing the new Delightful Dahlia set with lots of die-cut vellum layers. The colors and softness of this project are just amazing and I never would have thought to layer the shapes from the Beautiful Blooms dies on top of the dahlias like this. Such a pretty look and so much dimension!
Speaking of Betsy, also had to highlight one more project of hers...
Believe it or not, Betsy created this plaid background using the new Distressed Stripes set! Pure Poppy, Hawaiian Shores & Ripe Avocado! Isn't it so RICH and just... delicious! So in love with this!!!
Debbie Olson never does anything less than a perfect execution. This project is just breath-taking. Her use of the Green Boutique papers paired with the die-cut layers of the Beautiful Blooms II flowers is an amazing combination. I love the layers she was able to create with the flowers, along with the hint of sparkle with the perfect balance of rhinestones.
You probably already saw this project from Dawn McVey on her blog yesterday, but I just had to showcase it here too because it is one of my very favorites that she made for this release using her new Delightful Dahlia set. The colors are so citrusy and yummy! The Distressed Stripes images look so fun & vintage on the Rustic Cream cardstock. And I don't know about you, but I am always looking for ways to use line images, like these dahlias, without any coloring. The layout in general is just divine too. Love it all!
Erin Lincoln totally hit it out of the park with this one! She created and entire village deep in the hills, with the new Wonderfully Whimsical stamp set. The most clever thing she did that really caught me attention was the way she used the flower images from Springtime Doodles to embellish the sky! The loopy daisy for clouds and the dandelion for the sun! Now, how's that for smart!
Kim Hughes created this AMAZING & innovative textural background using the Beautiful Blooms II stamp set and dies. The small pops of Orange Zest & Summer Sunrise provide such a nice contrast, not to mention a sunny disposition! The letter that form the word "hi" are from the new Outlines Alphabet. Such a great project!
Heather Nichols put her own rustic twist on Wonderfully Whimsical. She stamped the houses, hill & trees onto kraft cardstock using black ink. She then added just a touch of color here and there with Copics. I love how simple and easy to replicate this is. Heather even added some Distressed Stripes in the background using Fresh Snow ink. Her ribbon treatment is something to take note of too!
Lisa Johnson put Wonderfully Whimsical to work too for this fresh & fun project! Sometimes I forget how bold and interesting a card can be when using circular focal points rather than the typical rectangle or square. I love how Lisa did that here and also echoed the shape with her sentiment circle. The balance of patterns combined from Green Boutique provide the perfect backdrop for these simple images.
Maile Belles created a project that featured one of my very favorite uses of Fillable Frames #2. I love how it extends over the edge of the card and how she added a bit of a floral accent to the interior of the frame, allowing the sentiment to overlap it. The flower there helps to break up all the white space and creates a visual triangle between the other Delightful Dahlias stamped in the background. And don't you love the way she stamped the two Distressed Stripes at the bottom and adorned them with buttons? Such a great concept!
Melissa Phillips shared this creative take on the new Springtime Doodles set. Little snails and mushrooms couldn't be more perfectly suited for a baby card, especially when it has a Melissa Twist! I love the small open circles she stamped around the snails and filled in with glitter. Just that little bit of sparkle takes the project to a whole new level!
Michelle Wooderson used Springtime Doodles as well for this amazing tag application. Not only are her colors fantastic, but the use of the Fillable Frames #1 stamp set & die as tags is such a smart idea! IT would be so fun to have a stash of these little goodies on hand to tie to a gift or merely add to a card cover as a quick focal point.
Niki Estes literally took my breath away with this project she created using Year of Flowers: Daffodils. The soft earth tones she selected to color the flower in with are just perfect and all of the soft distressing she did around the edges of each layer bring a warmth & homeyness that just cannot be compared! So wonderful!
While we're talking daffodils, I just had to showcase this second project from Erin Lincoln. She created a whole bouquet of them, all wrapped up in pretty paper edged with Background Basics: Botanicals! Notice the Fillable Frames #2 image & die used to frame out the sentiment. I love how she paired it with two red buttons to fill the empty space at either end. Just genius!
Not only is the project overall fabulous, but her color scheme is out of this world too! And what's not to love about that sweet little butterfly? I just love how Kelly was really able to embrace the whimsy of this set and yet make it look so modern... and so Kelly!
I hope you enjoyed all of this eye candy as much as I have! So many ideas, so little time, right?!?!? I hope you all have a FABuLOUS Monday! Be sure and do something creative!!! :)

Hello, friends! Welcome back for Day 5 of this fabulous March release! I told you this was going to be a fun month, and I hope I didn't disappoint! All of this new product just leaves me overflowing with creative juices!
Today I have the pleasure of introducing TWO more stamp sets to you. A fun floral set by Dawn McVey and a background set from little ol' me!
Delightful Dahlia is the latest compilation by Dawn McVey. It's graceful & elegant line drawings are the perfect thing for any flower lover. The images are detailed enough that they can be used as is or colored, the choice is yours!
The details.
Delightful Dahlia will be available for purchase on March 15th.
It will retail for $15.
Delightful Dahlia contains a total of 15 stamps (3 flower images, 2 leaves and 10 sentiments.)
There is a collection of four dies that coordinate with this set that will retail for $15. It includes dies for the two largest flowers along with the two leaves.
The second set, a background set, that I mentioned earlier is entitled Distressed Stripes. I designed these 5" long stripes to be used in a variety ways, from borders to background building. You can make your own plaids & ginghams to your heart's content! The slightly distressed finish gives these a warm character that brings style to any project!
The details.
Distressed Stripes will be available for purchase on March 15th.
It will retail for $15.
Distressed Stripes contains a total of 7 stripe stamps (All 5" long and ranging from 1/8" to 3/8" wide.)
Now onto the projects!
This first project showcases classic Copic coloring with the large dahlia bloom.
Before I even started, I die-cut the coordinating die from Stamper's Select White cardstock. I was then able to easily stamp the dahlia with Noir Palette ink. I chose to go with the Pure Poppy Copic Trio. I love the richness and vibrancy that was created with this combination for this image..
I used an image from the new Distressed Stripes set to create a border for my project. I trimmed the stripe into a narrow strip and stitched it into place with my sewing machine. I think the end result looks a bit like ribbon.
The finished flower was adhered in place using foam dimensionals to give it a bit more dimension.
The sentiment I chose to use was this one from Signature Greetings. I stamped it in black ink to echo the lines from the flower. Such a fun little project! I can image it done in lots of different colors!

Next, I had a little fun with vellum while showcasing the backgrounds that can be created when pairing both the small and the large dahlias from this set.
I cut a piece of our vellum cardstock to size and stamped it with the small and large dahlias using Hawaiian Shores ink.
I allowed the ink to dry for a few minutes and applied tape runner adhesive to the stamped side of the vellum. Since I am adhering the vellum to a white cardbase, I don't need to worry about the adhesive showing through.
I stacked a two Hawaiian Shores buttons on top of one another to create an accent for the sentiment strip. They are just adhered together with glue dots. (FYI, I have now updated the Hawaiian Shores introduction post with button photos and comparisons) I also ran strips of 1/8" Scor-tape along the top and the bottom of the strip to adhere Prisma Glitter. I'm so happy with the simplicity of this project and look forward to making more in the future.
Next is a little project that's out of my comfort zone, but I had fun creating it and that's all that matters! It never hurts to just PLAY!
I wanted to create some plaid paper using the new Distressed Stripes set, so I did the first round of the stamped stripes on Vintage Cream cardstock, alternating Orange Zest & Summer Sunrise.
I then reversed direction and repeated.
I cut the finished plaid paper into two panel, antiqued them with the Tea Dye Duo, following some stitching around their perimeters with my sewing machine.
For the dahlia, I die-cut Vintage Cream cardstock and stamped the flower in Dark Chocolate ink. I then stamped the polka dots with Summer Sunrise ink. I went in with a few of my Copic markers and added some shading to the base of each dahlia petal. Loops of Dark Chocolate Grosgrain ribbon are underneath the flower to add balance to the project. The leaves are hand cut and stamped with Text Style II using Dark Chocolate ink. Quite a dramatic project, isn't it?
(click the above image for a larger view)
Here is a series of simple cards I created. Each of these cards took no more than five minutes to create, so if you are in the business of mass-producing, these are just the ticket!
Just a few simple supplies and steps is all it takes.
Stamp the flower in Versamark ink, followed by an application of Filigree Embossing powder. Heat to set.
I then dabbed the corner of a paper towel in my Fresh Snow ink pad and rubbed it in a circular motion in the center of the flower. It adds definition, dimension and shading to a project without having to do any actual coloring.
(click the above image for a larger view)
The colors I worked with for my collection are (left to right)... Ripe Avocado, Spring Moss, Aqua Mist, Ocean TIdes and Melon Berry. It's like a feast for the eyes! :)

Lastly, this is a dainty little Mother's Day card I designed using the Delightful Dahlia set.
I combined it with last year's "Mother" set, perfect for the upcoming holiday.
I created my own striped ribbon and utilized our new Picnic Plaid Impression Plate, which turned out to be the perfect subject matter for a video! A little Impression Plate 101 among a few other tips and tricks! I hope you'll enjoy!
Aren't these sets just AMAZING? Can you imagine all the possibilities? We would love to hear your first impressions of these sets! Leave a comment today letting us know what you think and you could have a chance to win a fantastic prize package that will work SO cohesively together!

So, are you enjoying this month's countdown? It's hard to believe that we are already on Day 4! I have TWO exciting stamp sets to share with you today and I can hardly wait to share my creations using them! First, a bit of an introduction!
Becky Oehlers in introducing her very first set with us, entitled Wonderfully Whimsical. As soon as I saw it the first time, ideas began running through my head of all the amazing ways the images could be used! Wonderfully Whimsical takes us on a journey inside Becky's head, where we get to see a wonderful world that she has invented. From tiny mushroom capped houses to heart-topped chimneys, twisting trees, stitched hills and everything in between! You'll fall in love with your very first visit!
The details.
Wonderfully Whimsical will be available for purchase on March 15th.
It will retail for $15.
Wonderfully Whimsical contains a total of 30 stamps (5 houses, 2 trees, 17 sentiments and 6 accessory images)
The second set I am introducing today is a new alphabet set, Outlines Alphabet. It is a collection of approximately 1" lowercase letters & numbers that can be used for a variety of techniques based on the fact that they are outline images only.
The details.
Outlines Alphabet will be available for purchase on March 15th.
It will retail for $24.
Outlines Alphabet contains a total of 53 stamps (lowercase letters a-z, numbers 0-9 and 17 extras)
Becky has been hard at work all week showcasing all of the wonderful things you can create with her new set. I thought I would sow you examples of how you can incorporate older sets you may already have in your collection with Wonderfully Whimsical.
I was So excited about this little find. The animal images from Tiny Treats: Valentine are the perfect scale to nestle under the twisting tree from Wonderfully Whimsical. Doesn't this little dog just look right at home?
I started by stamping Becky's tree and hill images on Stamper's Select White cardstock using Noir Palette ink. I stamped the dog separately and cut him out. Both images were colored with Copic markers.
I trimmed down the tree image and swiped Spring Rain ink around the edges to represent the blue sky. The dog was adhered in place with a foam dimensional just on top of the hill so he looked like he was sitting comfortably. The sentiment (from Everyday Button Bits) was stamped underneath the focal point using True Black ink. Soooo cute! This would also work with the cat & bunny images from Tiny Treats! Lots of fun possibilities between these sets!
Next is a card that would be perfect for a happy couple on their wedding day or in celebration of their first new house.
I placed all of the smaller scaled houses in a row on a block together. I then stamped them along my kraft card cover using Fresh Snow ink.
I then was able to go back in with True Black and add the hearts coming from the chimney and the sentiment (from Big & Bold Wishes) underneath the row of houses.
I stamped this particular house again onto white cardstock, colored it and cut it out. I adhered it over the appropriate are with a foam dimensional. As a finishing touch, I die-cut a piece of rickrack using the new Rickrack die, out of raspberry fizz cardstock. I then used a 2-way glue pen to adhere some Prisma glitter to the border. I love how bright and cheerful this project is! Don't you agree?
I
With the elements that Becky designed for this set, you can also create festive holiday cards! Here I've paired up this little winter scene with a sentiment from Tree Trimming Trio.
The little scene was colored with Copic markers, complete with small hand-drawn stars to adorn the tops of the trees. I cut a small wavy piece of cardstock, applied 2-way glue and sprinkled on some Prisma glitter to achieve the look of a snowbank. I can totally see mass-producing these now and getting a head start on the holidays!
My next project showcase Wonderfully Whimsical paired with the flower stems from Blooming Button Bits. I stamped this "sign post house" with Noir Palette ink, followed by the aforementioned stem trio in Spring Moss ink.
Becky cleverly has included a handful of small-scaled sentiments that will fit perfectly within the sign attached to this house. I selected "Happy Birthday" to be used with my project today. I also stamped small outlined flowers at the top of each system. The flower stamp is from the new Beautiful Blooms II.
I got out the Copic markers to color in this sweet little scene. Note that I outlined everything with the T1 Copic to help add definition and make it look more polished.
Next, I used the small scalloped border die to cut this Spring Moss polka dot paper from Pretty Pastels paper pad. This made the perfect patch of "grass" to ground my images.
Onto the second portion of my project, I decided I wanted to personalize the piece using the new Outline Alphabet. I stamped the recipients name with Noir palette ink. If you take a look at the block, it was super easy to line-up all of the letter at once and stamp away!
Next, I used some f the same pink Copic markers that I also used on the flowers above, to shade in the letters of the little girls name. I just LOVE how this turned out!
When completed, you could use the piece as an ordinary name frame or even a card front! However, I chose to make this one the guest book for the party The piece was removed from the frame and I added some pencil lines as to where the frame would be covering up when we reassembled.
This closeup shows you how I added glitter to the letters with a 2-way glue pen. The sparkle is just amazing in real life! This is such a happy reminder of such a special event! Even when the child no longer wants to display it in their bedroom, the piece can be removed from the frame and added to their scrapbook!
Now that I've shown you a little bit of the Outlines Alphabet, how about some more projects that utilize it? My next project does just that and it started out as the letters stamped in Noir Palette ink on Stamper's Select cardstock.
This happy rainbow card was SO fun and easy to make. After stamping the letters, I just went back in with my Copics and created strips of vertical color that are blended into each other, being careful to avoid the center areas of the letters.
After the coloring was complete, I cut 1/4" strips from the bottom and top so I could separate them like shown here. The "hello" at the edge of the card is from Fillable Frames #1. Those particular fonts work well with the alphabet font.
I have one last project to share with you tonight. This uses a new product for March that we hadn't introduced to you yet! My dear readers, meet the Giga Guide Lines Impression Plate! It was a little hard to get this AMAZING impress treatment to show up in a photograph, but if you scroll down, you should get a good idea from the other shots of the cover.
I used the new Outlines alphabet to spell out "hello" along the right side of the card cover, followed by a bit of Polka Dot Basics treatment.
I thought you might be interested in the process of making this card, so I created a step-by-step video! Enjoy!!!
Are you not SO in love with the world that Becky has created for us? And how about that alphabet set? We would love to hear your first impressions of this set! Leave a comment today letting us know what you think and you could have a chance to win a fantastic prize package that will work SO cohesively together!

Springtime Doodles is a fun compilation of doodled spring images that can be used aloe or combined to create scenes and focal points. The style is perfect to be used in cards for kids or just an overall whimsical feel that is appropriate for almost any age!
The details.
Springtime Doodles will be available for sale on March 15th.
It will retail for $24.
Springtime Doodles contains a total of 30 stamps (12 flower & leaf building images, 5 creatures, 3 additional companion images and 10 sentiments)
I personally had way too much fun playing with these images, as they are quite different from anything else in my stamp collection. I feel like they really gave me the ability to go in new directions and I hope you agree after you've seen all that I've made with this collection of stamps!
This first project is one of my favorites from the bunch. I have always had a thing for dandelions, and the one that Beth illustrated for this set is just perfect! I think this project is gender neutral enough that it could totally be used for any men in your life too!
I strated with some Ocean Tides cardstock and stamped the dandelions across the cover using Versamark ink. I then sprinkled them with Clear Filigree embossing powder and heat set.
Using a paper towel, I dabbed a small amount of Fresh Snow ink into the center of each flower and spread the ink in a circular motion. I love how soft and radiant the ink became around each bloom.
I added a variety of different sizes of rhinestones to their centers as a finishing touch.
Not only do the rhinestones add sparkle, they also add dimension to an otherwise flat card.
For the sentiment strip, I stamped Text Style II with Smokey Shadow ink onto Rustic Cream cardstock. I then stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from Fillable Frames #1 in black ink over that. By adding a bit of Tea Dye Duo around the edges of the strip, it helped to give this project a nice warm feeling.
This next project could be used for a variety of occasions, including celebrating the birth of a baby. Isn't is adorable?!?!
I created a little "scene" using a fern image from the set in Spring Moss ink and the same dandelion image from above in Hawaiian Shores ink. I sponged the edges of the cardstock with the Tea Dye Duo for a more vintage feel.
The bee was stamped separately and cut out. The little guy is colored in with the Summer Sunrise Copic Trio. I adhered him in place with a foam dimensional. I also adhered a bit of our Rustic Button Twine behind him to represent a "flight path". It is adhered in place with small bits of 1/8" Scor-tape. I love this accent and look forward to trying it again on another project soon!
The sentiment, from Inside & Out: Baby, is just too perfect for this project. Who doesn't love quotes from Winnie the Pooh?!?!? The phrase is stamped with Hawaiian Shores ink.
This card showcases just how simple things can be when using this set!
I started with a few floral images, stamped in Fresh Snow ink on kraft cardstock.
I stitched the stems with my sewing machine and added a few leaves with Fresh Snow ink. I then followed up with the adorable lady bug image, stamped in black ink. Notice how he looks as though he just landed upon that flower?
I stamped the bug a second time on white cardstock and colored it in with Pure Poppy Copics. I was then able to trim it out to layer in the next step. Notice how by stamping the bug onto the kraft cardstock first, I didn't have to cut out the antennae in the white version. Certainly makes things a lot easier!
Now you can see how I was able to adhere the bug in place with a foam dimensional. The sentiment at the bottom is the perfect touch to this project! It's from Vintage Picnic sentiments and I think the font combination goes perfectly with this set.
I have one last project for you today...a clear card. One of my favorite things to experiment with!
I always get so many questions when I create a clear card, I thought it would be perfect to create a little how-to video. There's even some step by step Copic coloring included. I think you'll enjoy the presentation and hopefully learn something new too!
So, can you believe how FUN these images are! They just make me smile every time I look at them! Not to mention, my daughter Hannah LOVES all my projects and says she wants to keep them forever on her bulletin board in her room!
We would love to hear your first impressions of this set! Leave a comment today letting us know what you think and you could have a chance to win a fantastic spring themed prize package that will work SO cohesively together!

Happy Birthday Dandelion Card
STAMPS: Springtime Doodles (available March 15th), Text Style II, Fillable Frames #1
I am excited to introduce the second edition of our ongoing Year of Flowers Collection today. (If you missed the original announcement about this series, you can read all about it HERE). Daffodils are the flowers for March, representing sunshine and renewal. I don't know about you, but we are definitely ready for some nice spring weather here in the south and these daffodil images remind me that it's right around the corner!
The daffodil images in this set are large-scaled, allowing you to fill a card front in a matter of minutes. With coloring and paper piecing opportunities, you will find an endless array of uses for these images.
Year of Flowers: Daffodils will be available for purchase on March 15th. Due to a quality control issue that was just discovered by our manufacturer, the release of this stamp set will be delayed by approximately a week. We will keep you updated via our newsletter as to when it will become available.
It will retail for $15.
It contains a total of 6 stamps (1 large stemmed daffodil, 1 single daffodil bloom and 4 sentiments).
I am excited to show you what I have put together for you today using this set. Let's get right onto the projects, shall we?

First, I thought I would start with a traditionally colored daffodil that utilizes Copics. One of the things I love about this particular project is it's horizontal orientation. With an image this tall, your first inclination would be to stand it upright on a vertical card. But his project showcases that this image can be way more versatile than that.
Here's a closeup of the Copics used here, all Papertrey Copic Trios... Lemon Tart, Summer Sunrise, Orange Zest, Terracotta Tile & Ripe Avocado. I have found that by adding a really dark center to the "cup" of the flower, you get a more realistic look, so keep that in mind as you color your own versions.
The sentiment is from the daffodils set as well. I stamped it with Noir Palette ink onto our Stamper's Select Vellum Cardstock and trimmed it into a strip. I adhered it in place and then added some decorative stitching underneath it using my sewing machine.
I drew a black border around the card front using a ruler and my Pigment Pro pen from American Crafts. It needed just a little more "umph" so I traced the outside edge of the frame with a 2-way glue pen and sprinkled on some Prisma Glitter. I'm totally in love with how this project turned out!

For this card, I decided to do a little paper piecing. You'll notice that this project is not only vertically oriented, but it also has a distressed, vintage feel, whereas the previous project was much more clean and modern. I love that about these Year of Flowers sets, they really can be compatible with nearly anyone's style!
I stamped the large daffodil twice, once onto Lemon Tart Bitty Dot paper and a second time onto Ripe Avocado Friends 'Til the End paper. I then carefully cut them out just outside of the lines.
Here is the card base I created to go along with my pieced daffodil. It's created with two layers of kraft cardstock. The mat layer has been stamped with a new set for this month, Distressed Stripes (more about this later on this week!) using Vintage Cream ink. Don't you just love the look of that plaid! It makes me SO happy! :)
I added a bit of the Tea Dye Duo around the edges of the daffodil pieces to give it a warmer feel. I also used the Papertrey Copic marker Summer Sunrise Trio to color the center of the daffodil to give it a bit more definition. I love the bitty dots on the daffodil bloom... so cute!
Lastly, the sentiment I added is from Handwritten Notes. It is stamped in True Black ink and filled the lower corner of the project perfectly. Just think of all the fun versions of this card that you could make using a variety of patterned papers!

I wanted to showcase one more use for this new set. There is a single daffodil bloom (without a stem or leaves) that is included, perfect for creating background patterns. This project showcases just that, as well as an unexpected color scheme for a daffodil set!
It all started with the single daffodil bloom and Plum Pudding ink. I stamped the flower all over the vintage cream base, building a beautiful background.
I then stamped the smallest dots from Polka Dot Basics II on top of the floral pattern using Lavender Moon ink. I love how this added a slightly modern feel to the design and helped take up some of the empty space without being too overwhelming.
I attached the patterned piece to a Plum Pudding card base and added a bit of stitching with my sewing machine.
I finished the project with some loops of Plum Pudding Grosgrain ribbon along with the Fillable Frames #1 stamp & die. The sentiment is from Take Note, and I think it worked perfectly for this particular project! It's stamped in Smokey Shadow ink, a nice neutral to go along with these shades of purple I think. What a combination!
Doesn't all of this daffodil goodness just make you want spring to hurry up and arrive in all it's glory? :) We would love to hear your impressions of the Year of Flowers collection and specifically the new daffodils. You can have a chance to win a wonderful prize package just for sharing your thoughts with us today!

To begin with today, I thought I would show you a few quick and easy projects I created using Fillable Frames #2. This entire concept and collection is one of my personal favorites from 2010 and I am eager to expand my collection!
This first card is super, super simple and could be created in a variety of color schemes to suit the recipient. You could even create a whole collection of these to give someone as a gift.
I started by die-cutting the frame from Stamper's Select cardstock. I then stamped the die-cut with the frame image using True Black ink.
I stamped the sentiment (also from Fillable Frames #2) within the boundaries of the frame, slightly off-center to allow room for the floral image to the left. The small daisy is from Beautiful Blooms II and is stamped in Pure Poppy. I added a small black rhinestone to the center of the flower as a finishing detail. Pure Poppy Grosgrain ribbon is looped under the frame to help echo the red found in the daisy image. I used a black pen & ruler to draw the double frame around the perimeter. The frame helped to ground everything without the addition of another layer.
This second card proves that a project doesn't need to be complicated in order to be pretty. Also, keep in mind that all of the Fillable Frames can be applied in conjunction with images other than the sentiments included in the set. Here, I used the frame to outline a pretty floral image from Beautiful Blooms II.
I stamped the frame with Enchanted Evening ink onto Rustic Cream cardstock. I then added the leaves to the center of the frame using Ripe Avocado ink. The flower is stamped with Enchanted Evening as well and is die cut using the coordinating Beautiful Blooms die.
Just by popping the flower up on a foam dimensional and adding the strip of Enchanted Evening Bitty Dot ribbon, I am able to create a nice flat, mail friendly card.
Now onto more with Heather's Mini Scrapbook Series! I challenged the entire team to use this new collection of products in a variety of different manners. Some people created scrapbook projects, some made paper crafted projects and others even were able utilize them with card making. I opted to create a 3D organizational item that I look forward to utilizing in my own space. Not only was it fun to create, it is a "green" project since it reuses the stamp boxes you might be saving from your past purchases!
First of all, do you not LOVE this color combo? I am just head over heels about it! It's so fresh and reminds me of the ocean! Now, the project itself isn't half bad either, if I do say so myself! I wanted something that could allow me to file away all the inspiration I collect from magazines. I cut out pictures, rip out pages and create sketches based on what I find within the pages of the 20+ magazines I subscribe to each month! I've tried binders in the past, which are good for long term filing, but I really needed something short term, where I could stick things immediately while they wait to be organized in my binders. This portfolio style organizer fit the bill perfectly.
As I said earlier, this project utilizes the boxes that Papertrey Ink stamps are packaged in. I used the the large "two-sheet" boxes. If you don't have any of these on hand, they are also available for purchase in our store HERE. Three of these boxes are adhered together using Scor-tape, which creates a really sturdy organizational piece.
The tab border images from Heather's stamp set along with the coordinating die provided the perfect labeling system for the various sections of my portfolio. The 24 tab titles included in the set cover a variety of categories from organizational themes to scrapbook topics and occasions. The double sided nature of the tabs make them extraordinarily sturdy and professional looking every time.
The front of this portfolio was decorated with a title from Take Note, a wonderful companion set for this new scrapbook collection. Notice there's a bit of the new Hawaiian Shores felt utilized as well. The textural accent this adds is just fabulous!
I put together a little video to showcase how my project was put together. I hope you enjoy!
Now, wasn't that fun?!?! I hope you are ready to buckle your seat belts, because now you will have the opportunity to scroll through each of the Design Team member's blogs to see what THEY have created with these amazingly versatile products!!!!
So, have you been THOROUGHLY inspired now? Don't we have the BEST team ever? As I received all of their photos to assemble the graphic for this group post, I couldn't help but be completely amazed by the versatile array of projects they created with the same supplies. It really proves to be an ongoing testimony that Papertrey products coincide with everyones style!
