Lisa Johnson has a distinctive style that I think you will identify with more and more with each set she releases through Papertrey. Her latest release for this month, entitled Remember, contains poppies of all shapes and sizes. With many pieces to build your own creations, the possibilities are literally endless.
....................................................................................................
For my project today, I felt like doing a little creative cutting. So I stamped the poppy image, which comes in two different sizes, in black ink onto vintage cream cardstock. I colored the images in with Copic markers. I cut the flowers out with detail oriented scissors.
...................................................................................
I then stacked them on top of one another using a foam dimensional. A black rhinestone was adhered to the center for a little bling! I dabbed a clear Spica pen (from Copic) on each of the surrounding center dots.
...................................................................................
Here is my completed card. Guide Lines was used to create the pattern found on the spring moss accent strip. I cut the front cover about an inch shorter and extended the ribbon border off the cover to add an interesting detail.
...............................................................................................
After playing around with this color scheme, I thought about how I wanted to try incorporate the two colors into my wardrobe someday, because they really work well together. For some reason this old paper bead technique to mind from third grade. The technique was something I had learned in art class and really enjoyed way back when! I created a template for you (download below) which just needs to be printed onto typing weight paper (I used linen resume paper!). I stamped poppies and leaves all over the printout using Pure Poppy & Landscape Palette inks. Don't worry too much about placement, as most of the images won't be showing up in their full glory. Just bits & pieces. The stamping just provides a general color scheme to be highlighted with the beads. Next was to trim out the strips. I made this step ultra easy with the template below. Just print it out onto your paper of choice and continue!
..............................................................................................
Next is to start turning this strip of paper into a bead! Coat the back of the bead with Modge Podge using a small brush.
..............................................................................................
Slowly start rolling at the wider end. You may prefer to roll it on a toothpick for a bit more stability and control.
...............................................................................................
After you are done rolling, stick the beads onto individual pins. You can stick the sharp end in nearly anything sturdy, like cork board or foam. This will allow you to coat the outside of them with Modge Podge and allow them to dry thoroughly!
..............................................................................................
When the beads were dry & ready to use I created the bracelet. I love it. I really, really love the colors and the character behind it!
...........................................................................................
This bracelet was SO easy and FUN to make. So much so that my sister, who is visiting from out of town, made her own while I was making mine. This was also her first time stamping with my stamps! Bravo, Jenn!
...............................................................................................
Last but not least, a small tin to hold the bracelet. I decided to use our 2.5 oz. round clear top tins. Here is a little tip for adding an image to the lid of the tin. It is easiest to ink the stamp, lay it right side up and press the lid into it. You'll get a great impression just about every time!

So here is the ensemble all together. I love how simplistic it is. Be sure to click on the image for an enlarged view and a better look at all the details!

Your bracelet and your sister's are beautiful. I love how you made a holder for the bracelet with the tin.
Did you use elastic thread to thread the bracelet together?
