Candice is currently away in sunny Mexico marrying her soul mate! But in the months leading up to her wedding, she prepared this bee-autiful stamp set for all of you! I have always loved that Candice has a way of combining whimsy & elegance all into one amazing package with each and every image. This set is definitely no exception!
For my project I decided to combine Candice's new set with one of my older favorites, Sweet Love. While playing around I found that the smallest bee in Honey Bees fit together perfectly with the nugget label from Sweet Love. I searched my entire studio over and realized I had NO labels to stamp on! So I started experimenting with what I could do differently. As always, when put in a position to make do, you often make the most fun discoveries! I cut a strip of white cardstock measuring 1-1/8 inch wide and 5-1/2 inches long. I stamped the reverse label image from Sweet Love with Summer Sunrise ink. I then scored a line just above and below the label image, creating a professional looking edge.
By adding a strip of adhesive down the center back of the cardstock strip, I was easily able to wrap it around a pair of nuggets. You could also do this with other pairs of candies that have a square shape.
....I knew that I wanted to create a whole ensemble around my coordination discoveries, so I paired one of the larger bees from Honey Bees with the reverse oval stamp from Sweet Love. I punched it out with a Giga scalloped oval punch and scored a line through the middle, being sure to omit the portion with the bee.
For the cute little 3x4 gift card, I heat embossed Polka Dot Basics onto chocolate cardstock with clear embossing powder, creating an accent strip. After the accent strip was attached to the card, I scored directly above and below the strip to accent it. To finish the mini card up, I tied Summer Sunrise satin ribbon around the card and added chocolate brads to the focal point.
The pair of nuggets fit perfectly inside one of our small hinged tins, making a wonderful presentation. A wrap for the tin was created with scraps leftover from creating the card.
I hope you enjoyed today's project! Why don't you play around with using a score line as an accent on a project today. It is quick & easy and matches anything!
