Papertrey Exclusive Ribbon!
I saved the best for last as I introduce the different elements contained in Papertrey's Perfect Match Color Collection! RIBBON!
The basics...
- We will be carrying FIVE different types of ribbon.
- All five varieties will be available in every color we add to our collection.
- On February 15th we will be releasing TEN ribbons total (two colors of each variety).
- The ribbon will be packaged 5 yards to a spool.
- The price is $3 per spool, no matter the type of ribbon! (That's 60-cents per yard!)
- The ribbon is made EXCLUSIVELY for Papertrey!
Many of our ribbons are wider than industry standards. Because so much of our business is geared towards packaging, we felt that this would fill a niche in the paper crafting world. The wider widths are also a luxurious addition to cards. Here are some detailed photos of each ribbon type and a description of their unique characteristics!
Topnotch Twill (3/8-inch wide) When I saw this twill tape for the first time, I knew it was like no other twill tape I had seen. It is tightly woven and almost has a silky-satin finish to it. Making it really elegant & classy.
It is much thinner than other twill tapes I have seen before and therefore ties beautifully. It is stiff enough that it would perform well as a border across the front of a card. The detail of the weave is amazing, but it is flat enough that you could successfully stamp on it as well. The 3/8-inch width makes it a perfect addition to tags and other small embellishments. It is really sturdy, so it would hold up well to brads and eyelets.
Swiss Dot Satin Ribbon (5/8-inch wide) I have wanted the ability to get polka dot ribbon in coordinating colors for YEARS. It just makes me giddy to think that this amazing ribbon will be available in ALL our exclusive colors (can you tell I'm partial to polka dots?!?!) We searched high and low to find THE best single faced satin in the industry. And we found it!
This stuff is super smooth and has a luxurious pliability to it. The feel of the ribbon running through your hands as your tying it to your project is just heavenly! The sheen is understated and looks very rich & elegant. The polka dots are silk-screened with a wonderful white medium that binds nicely with the satin itself. The dots really become one with the ribbon rather than laying on top of the surface.
Luxe Satin Ribbon (1/2-inch wide) This is the same single-faced satin used for the Swiss Dot ribbon (above), just in a more narrow application. This particular width is one of my personal favorites to work with. It is narrow enough to easily be added to a card or tag, and it is wide enough to use on altered items & gift packaging without looking under-scaled.
I love the finished edge on the satin ribbon too. It has a beautifully bound edge that looks gorgeous on both the front and back. This is the best of the best when it comes to satin ribbon!
Classic Grosgrain Ribbon (5/8-inch wide) I fell in love with wide grosgrain sometime ago when I started doing a lot of gift packaging and altering. While exploring the grosgrain market I discovered that there is stiff grosgrain & pliable grosgrain. Nothing is more difficult than trying to tie a bow with stiff grosgrain! I know you all have tried it! We were able to find the MOST pliable, soft grosgrain in the industry!
It is so easy to tie and make beautiful bows. The satin-like finish that it has is just pure bliss to look at and touch. I am left wondering where this fabulous material has been all my life! *wink* It will perform beautifully as borders around the edges of tins and across the edge of cards. It's width is extravagant and luscious!!!
Stitched Ribbon (5/8-inch) I do not have actual spools of this ribbon to photograph for you today! They will be arriving on Monday at our warehouse. But I still wanted to give you a little peek at the itty-bitty samples that I do have to give you an idea of what you can expect! The white stitching of this ribbon is so classy. I just LOVE the detail that it adds to a project. Just like the grosgrain, the pliability & elegance of this ribbon is nothing but first-class. You will fall in love the moment you see it in person for the first time!
So there you have it! All of the new exclusive Papertrey Ribbons!
***(Looking over this completed post, I wanted to add that each of the ribbons true colors varied slightly in the way they appear in the photographs. I assure you that they are all the same shade and coordinate perfectly with one another! )
So, do you want to be one of the first stampers to experience our new ribbon?
Tell us which characteristic(s) of our new ribbons intrigue you the most in the comments section of this post. I will pick one lucky winner who will receive one spool each of all FIVE ribbons in each of the new colors, Aqua Mist & Spring Moss. (That's TEN spools total!) The contest will close tomorrow (02/10/08) at 12pm (EST). The winner will be announced that evening.
Tomorrow I have some new packaging to debut that is yet another EXCLUSIVE from Papertrey Ink! It is something SO unique, you will want to be one of the first to get the opportunity to purchase one! See you then!

Wow! What more can I say? You have outdone yourself! I think my favorite characteristic of the new ribbon is the fact that they are such high quality and that they will match the new cardstock and ink. (OK, maybe that's two characteristics.) I am already envisioning all of the wonderful things I will be able to do with the fabulous Perfect Match Collection. *Ü*
