So another countdown has begun! For those of you new here, today marks the beginning of a five-day blogging blitz in which I will share little sneak peeks of the the stamp sets being released on October 15th by Papertrey Ink. The stamps used in the projects over the next few days will be available to purchase at 12am EST October 15th. If you want to join the party, there will be some chit chat going on HERE in the Papertrey Forum.
The first set that I am going to introduce you to today is one based on THIS free digital kit. The set is very conducive to layering, which I just LOVE! The super fun part is that you can always make the decision to layer or not to layer.
Here is a sample using just the linear floral images from the set. A really artsy feel.
One of my favorite things to do with these types of images is stamp with dye ink and use a water pen to trace all the lines.
It creates a really soft effect.
Here is a sample using just the solid floral images from the set. I think this is more organic looking.
And of course, the two combined. Lots of detail & depth.
When you compare the three different results, they all look SO different. It is such a treat to be able to get so many looks from one stamp set.
Here are the finished projects using the above samples:
Linear & Solid Combination. So which look do you like best?
I wanted to note that most likely my post tomorrow will not be up until mid afternoon. I need to prepare tonight for a television spot I have on a local mid-day talk show tomorrow. For those of you who are local, it is Talk of the Town, Nashville WTVF, channel 5 @ 11:30am. Wish me luck!
EDITED TO ADD: We have been made aware of the grammar error in the sentiment used on this project. I take complete responsibility for the mistake and am blushing from head to toe! LOL! Manufacturing has already been completed, so we are having the correct sentiment manufactured separately. I will provide more details as they become available. Other than this small error, I promise that this set is amazing, and once you see it in it's entirety, it will be love at first sight!

Uh-oh, you have a typo in your sentiment. It should be "Bloom Where You're Planted" (you are--not your). Can that be fixed before you ship them?

Love all the Papertrey sets! They are just so beautiful! Nichole - I'm curious, though, on the grammar of the sentiment...is it meant to say "Bloom where you're planted" instead of your?

I love this technique! I have a question, isn't it Bloom where you're planted? I think you may have used your incorrectly? Hope I am wrong!

I reall like the 3rd card the best with the combo. But really all of the cards are beautiful!
Darn it, and just when I thought I was "set" with stamps for a while.....luckily these are easy to store!

I am sure Nichole will find a solution for the typo! Even if we all order our set she can mass produce that sentiment alone and send them out individually at a later date...or not. I always tell my mom to 'Grow where you are planted" because she does not like where she lives right now. This would be a great card for her. Loving the set already!

Love it like always!

WOW !!! Your cards are fantastic. I am really loving this set. On holiday in Australia at the moment so I will have to work out the time difference for the release - I cannot miss this one. Well done, Nichole.

Wanted to comment on the typo - But I see it has already been mentioned - hope they fix it as I already "NEED" this set - so pretty!

Must you continue to torture my wallet? It is crying out for mercy! LOL! I LOVE this set. I hardly have any floral sets because I guess I've been waiting for the "right" one. This may be the one!
I LOVE everything you have done and the fact that they come in a light compact case is perfect for me (my family pays $8 a pound to ship to Morocco!) And, hey, my Moroccan friends probably won't notice the spelling! LOL!

Again, you WOW me! I love the technique with the watercolor pen over the linear images!

Nichole.....BEAUTIFUL again! What a shocker! (NOT!) Hee, hee! I used your technique of stamping in dye ink and then using it to color in the image with a blender pen on the "Believe" set's tree. AWESOME idea! Don't know why I never thought about it....we're always so worried about it actually RUNNING, that we never thought to use it to our advantage! SUPER! Can't wait to see all the other sets!
